Substitute to the default Windows battery indicator

Developed by Tarasov Artyom, Battery Mode is utility tool software that serves as an alternative to the default Windows battery indicator. If you're looking for a more useful battery popup window, this program is worth checking out. Compared to the standard Windows battery indicator, it is more feature-packed as it can provide a full list of power schemes for your system. It's a free program that is also available in a portable version and supports various languages.

More compelling features and window

Using Battery Mode, you'll be able to change your computer's power scheme automatically just by setting up a schedule. You can easily turn your battery mode on a "High performance" scheme when you fully charged or a "Balanced" scheme when you're connected to a power supply. On the other hand, when you're not linked to any power supply, you can also set the mode to the "Power Save" scheme whenever the battery percentage falls below a set level.

You can freely change or create a different schedule based on your preference. Apart from the creation of your desired battery scheduler, you will have the option to control your backlight, as well. Regardless if it's on internal or external monitors, you will be allowed to manage it. For external monitors though, you must ensure that it does support the I2C interface and DDC/CI standard to work.

If you wish to prevent the backlight level from changing whenever you attach the power supply or modify the power scheme, just go to the 'Fixed screen brightness' section and check the options there. If your device supports this, you can also enable or disable the 'Adaptive brightness' in the brightness icon just beside the backlight slider. Customizable hotkeys can be implemented also so, you won't need to open its window just to change your power scheme.

Better battery indicator

Battery Mode is a smart utility tool that allows you to easily monitor the status of your battery. It contains features that will enable you to immediately determine your battery's condition without constantly checking its pop-up window. Moreover, it is highly-customizable that you can set various power schemes based on your needs and preference. This is a highly-recommended program, especially for laptop users.
